Popany Vetch
Popany vetch is a late maturing purple vetch, used commonly in cover crops, green manuring, hay/silage or forage situations. It produces a black seed with white helium and has a dark purple pendulous flower. Popany is grown widely in mid to high rainfall areas, and is well suited to a range of soil types. It has a semi erect growth habit and forms a dense canopy, producing far greater dry matter than vicia sativa varieties. Popany is resistant to rust.
