On Wednesday, July 17, Pasture Genetics, together with Devon Court Herefords and Ag Solutions facilitated a “Multi-Species Pastures and Fodder Crop Selection” field day at Devon Court Herefords, Drillham, Queensland.
The field day was a huge success with over 70 attendees.
Contributors Michael Christensen and Tom Damin of Pasture Genetics, Tom Nixon of Devon Court Herefords, Ross Newman of SBB and Paul Pritchard of Ag Solutions discussed pasture/fodder options for improved productivity, what is a multi-species blend, best practice management, soil nutrition, utilising the forage available and soil health benefits.
As well as hearing from the experts, attendees displayed a high level of involvement, sharing their personal experiences, which were a huge part of the success of the day. After all, getting together to share and learn from others is what these days are about!
Attendees also inspected multi-species blends with a paddock walk toward the end of the day.
A big thanks to all who attended and to everyone involved in getting the field day off the ground.
Pasture Genetics would also like to congratulate Devon Court Herefords on their success at Ekka 2019, taking out Grand Champion Hereford Bull Devon Court Advance N142 (H), Reserve Senior Champion Devon Court Nash N138 (H), Reserve Junior Champion Devon Court Jubilant P190 (S), Champion Pair of Bulls and Champion Breeders Group. Wow – what results!
