Ash Jarvis first walked into Pasture Genetics Wingfield warehouse 15 years ago, at the age of 17.
As a new starter, Ash learnt the ropes. He became efficient in mixing seed, driving the forklifts and the truck, and maintaining the machinery. Quickly, his outstanding work ethic became obvious.
Hired by Pasture Genetisc General Manager Rob Damin, Rob noted Ash’s drive to succeed.
“It’s a privilege to be in my position – to be creating jobs and finding enthusiastic young people to employ.
“Ash started with us at a young age and I have enjoyed watching him mature and thrive, not only in his role at Pasture Genetics, but in his personal life. Now with a young family of his own and on the brink of building a new home, I feel even greater responsibility in fostering a nurturing and supportive work environment.” Rob said.
As a school leaver, it was not Ash’s long-term plan.
“I started as a casual storeperson, I only intended to be here until I found an apprenticeship position as a cabinet maker. Then Rob offered me a full-time role, and I couldn’t be more grateful,” Ash said.
Now, as Warehouse Operations and Logistics Manager, Ash heads up the operations and logistics business unit at Pasture Genetics Wingfield location. Maintaining a full-time staff of three, but during peak season managing 12 or more warehouse staff.
“I started in the warehouse, so I basically know everything that needs to be done and the standard of work that is expected.
“I enjoy working with a diverse group people and captaining them. Pushing them to work safely, better manage their workloads and continually impress with their abilities.”
“It’s easy to come to work every day. I see our team as not just people I work with, but as my mates,” Ash continued.
Rob is continually impressed with Ash’s hard work and dedication to the company.
“He’s a smooth operator. He manages to keep the wheels turning, the staff motivated and the machinery well oiled – all in a fuss-free manner. He’s a quiet achiever who keeps calm under pressure.
“I think we are incredibly fortunate to find people like Ash, who know why they want to be at Pasture Genetics,” Rob said.
In addition, National Commercial Manager Tim Francis celebrates 10 years.
Tim began work with Pasture Genetics in 2008, as a Territory Manager in regional Victoria.
“Throughout the past 10 years, Tim has proved himself as an outstanding agronomist, and as a natural leader.
“With Tim now heading up our commercial business unit, I rest easy. He brings a solid work ethic and a positive attitude every day,” Rob commented.
Pasture Genetics would like to congratulate Ash and Tim on their milestones and achievements.
